Apartment GR

ph. Claudio Tajoli

The starting point for this project was the flooring, or rather, the floors. The family's brief was clear: to preserve the apartment's original materials, embracing their history as a defining feature.

Three once-separate rooms have been merged into a single, fluid space. The most beautiful floors were preserved exactly where they lay, while the traces of the original walls remain visible, like a drawing that tells the story of the apartment’s past life. Rather than chasing an artificial sense of continuity, the design embraces this layering, turning it into the space's defining character.

This same spirit of creative problem-solving is felt in the bathroom, cleverly hidden inside a wardrobe: a playful solution that beautifully resolves the layout.
